Pregnancy Crisis support
An unexpected pregnancy can feel like a crisis. You may be in shock, not knowing where to turn or what to do. You may feel conflicting emotions such as excitement and fear. You may just feel panicked.
GirlAbout offers free, confidential support for girls who are or think they might be pregnant, and you can take a free pregnancy test here in The Barn. GirlAbout can provide you with space and time to process your feelings. A trained advisor will sit with you, listen to you and go through your options with you to try and help you come to a decision that is right for you.
If you think you might be pregnant and need someone to talk to, give us a call to arrange a meeting or just drop in during the week.
Post-Abortion support
Following an abortion, some women initially feel relieved but later feel numb or experience emotions such as guilt, grief or anger. They may also find it difficult to be near other babies or pregnant women. Or find it hard to sleep without having disturbing dreams. Or be preoccupied with the whole experience. These kinds of feelings are common following an abortion.
Post-abortion stress has a distinct set of symptoms similar to the ones described above. If you have had a termination and this sounds like what you are experiencing, then GirlAbout can help.
We provide support for girls and women who have terminated a pregnancy either recently or in the past. A trained adviser will work one to one with you to help you overcome your grief, process your feelings and move on with your life.
If you think that you or someone you know could benefit from this support, then please ring us to set up a meeting at a convenient time for you and we can take it from there.
