GirlAbout’s aim is to empower and encourage young women to make positive and informed life decisions. We recognise that every individual has the opportunity to make choices about the way they live, but that sometimes factors can prevent us from taking the healthy choice that is right for us. This is particularly true for young women, and especially in times of crisis.

GirlAbout therefore aims to equip young women to make these choices, rising above or dealing with the factors that would otherwise hold them back. In all of our activities, we aim to: provide good, relevant information; provide time and space to process this information and to work out its application; and to promote positive self-esteem so that young women are able to follow through the decisions that they make.

GirlAbout recognises that enduring peer support is essential for overcoming issues, and so in every activity we place an emphasis on community building, relationship developing and on utilising volunteers.

GirlAbout services are free for users, so that no-one is excluded on a financial or socio-economic basis. The organisation is run based on Christian values.
